Trump has declared tariff war on China and now has the gumption of described India as a “tariff king”. He is accusing India that that New Delhi has a high tariff rate on various American products.
At the same time, most probably as a joke or as a man with empty upper story, adds that “When US officials asked Indians why they want to have a trade deal with America, Indian officials told them that they want to keep the US President happy.“ This is the calibyr of the President if USA.
Trump’s charges against the alleged high Indian tariffs, for the second time in a few days, came during his White House news conference where he announced a new trade deal with neighbouring Mexico and Canada.
Trump’s remarks came days after Assistant US Trade Representative Mark Linscott returned from India where he had detailed discussion with senior Indian officials on bilateral trade and a possible trade deal between the two countries. The negotiations are being carried out by the US Trade Representatives, Robert Lighthizer.
As he announced the key elements of the US-Mexico and Canada Agreement or USMCA, Trump listed out the trade deals that are under negotiations, including with Japan, European Union, China and India.
Trump like a dimwit has warned against imposing China like tariffs on import of Indian products, Trump said Indians told him that they want to have a trade deal with the US.
Well Americans are not realizing that USA is in no position to take on both India and China in any trade or tariff war. In case both India and China decide to act jointly in every thing then Trump and his likes will have no place to hide their face any where in the world.
So Trump needs to be advised that instead of threatening India, it should start behaving like a good decent friend, which it keeps claiming to be otherwise.
