International Cricket Council Starts Shivering Because BCCI Has Caught Cold

Sensing the Country’s mood several former Indian cricketers including Sourav Ganguly and Mohammed Azharuddin have called for boycotting all ties with Pakistan following the dastardly Pulwama attack and its aftermath.

At Pulwama 40 CRPF policemen were martyred. So now its war which the Country will be fighting on all fronts and not only the Defence Services on the borders and the Central Police Forces in J& K state.

An all out War will be of course the last option but before that the enemy has to be isolated and hit hard on various fronts to weaken its morale and to bring it down economically to bankruptcy and make it a pariah internationally.

So now it cannot be CRICKET all the way. Just like the old South Africa which had practiced apartheid and had been boycotted from world sports, ICC has a choice to throw out Pakistan from its membership unless it makes itself terrorist free and the same is verified by SAARC countries.

However the International Cricket Council it seems has turned down the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s request to sever ties with nations which harbour terrorists.

The ICC clarified that the international board has no role to play in such matters and BCCI’s request can’t be taken forward.

In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, the BCCI in a letter to ICC had requested the top board and its associate members to sever ties with nations which harbour terrorism.

ICC has clarified that no associate member can be barred from taking part at the World Cup and there is no chance that Pakistan will be debarred. “There was no chance that anything like that would have happened.

The ICC chairman made it clear that the decision to ostracise a nation is taken at the government level and ICC had no rule. The BCCI knew it all along but still took a chance,” stated someone from the BCCI.

Though, seeing that the deteriorating political ties between the two nations is akin to a war like situation and will impact the sporting ties in the forth coming World Cup match between the arch-rivals, BCCI on its own should have clearly demanded Paki expulsion.

However very cleverly BCCI decided to not only write to ICC demanding a complete ban on Pakistan from the showpiece event but also maintains that the decision to boycott Pakistan clash at World Cup remains in the hands of the government.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to face each other on June 16 at Old Trafford in Manchester at the World Cup. As per acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary representing the BCCI at the ICC meeting said that BCCI’s security concerns were also addressed at the meeting with the ICC assuring the cricket board of top security during the World Cup in England and Wales.

Though ICC did not stop from playing the favorite British GREAT GAME by adding “ none of the international players, who play in the Pakistan Super League have raised any such concern.

So many players from member nations play the Pakistan Super League and they would have never entertained such a request. Yes, security was a concern and it had been duly addressed.

Well India and the Indian Government too knows how to play such GREAT GAMES. In case ICC fails to expel Pakistan from the present World Cup as a first step and permanently from the ICC in case it fails to reform, as the second step, then India should boycott the World Cup at the last minute and also carry out the following :

• No broadcasting rights to ICC World Cup within India

• Plan a Super Ranji Trophy knock out cup coinciding with World Cup

• Place a ban on visa to all international players who play any Pakistan Super League matches within Pakistan
