Global Times Of China Gone With The Wind

• Global Times is the mouth piece of Communist Party of China and THE MEDIA in China. However ever since the CPEC and OBOR initiative of China has faltered due to non participation of India , Global Times rhetoric against India has crossed the limit and has become shriller and shriller. Its writing took a turn for the worse during the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tawang and reached its depth during the Doklam crisis.

• When one reads the diatribes of Global Times critically , then one realises that firstly its articles are mere propaganda with no depth whatsoever. Secondly , in spite of the name GLOBAL , these articles are hardly read by any one in other countries. Thirdly , it is quite likely that even within China , it is hardly read by those outside the Communist Party circles. Fourthly the world diplomatic circles and even intelligence circles where they may be scanning this tabloid a bit more closely , hardly seem to be giving it much weightage.

During Nixon era these people were ga ga when USA turned its charm on the Chinese but now seem to be completely rattled when USA is trying to woo India . Knowing fully that its economy, however large is simply hollow in comparison to the solid Indian Economy growing stronger and stronger day by day. Indians just have to glance and laugh at the editorials written by this tabloid with respect to USA Secretary of State Rex Tilerson’s speech praising Indo American collaboration in various fields while criticizing China in the same breath. Both anger and jealousy are visible in its writing ……. “Since India is also stressful about its increasing gap with China, it makes an ideal target for US to unite against Beijing. India should not feel pleased over Tillerson’s comments, the US can’t ensure a seat for India at the Security Council all by itself. The United States is trying to use India as a lever to contain China’s growing influence but it is unlikely to succeed in its attempt.” Actually Chinese are angry and upset on Tillerson saying that China is practicing predatory economics.
Therefore Global Times has gone ahead and stated that the US cannot ensure a seat for India at the Security Council all by itself, and without China’s consent. Well they have forgotten that it was India’s generosity or may be someone’s sheer stupidity that the Security Council seat offered on platter to India was politely refused and passed on to China . The Chinese worry is quite obvious from the editorial which says “While India looks forward to receiving more US military know-how, the US is simply willing to supply military products. Washington has failed to contain China’s growth in the past and cannot succeed in this goal in the future. Such a goal would actually hinder growth for the whole of Asia.” How have they assumed that India will accept any kind of inferior technology or weapons from USA or for that matter from any one else. They should all remember the demonstrated sustainability of the Indian economy when the so called “ economic giants” had imposed sanction on India in the aftermath of our nuclear tests. Who finally surrendered India or the Sanctioners?
That China is worried can be seen clearly first from the statements made by their Foreign Ministry that “We are happy to see the development of relations between India and the US as long as they are conducive to the peaceful development of the region and enhancement of relations among the nations “. In the very next breath the spokesperson added “US should abandon its biased views on China and work with it towards the same goal to uphold the momentum for a steady and sound China relations”.
Dear Global Times , we advise you to tell your people to live in peace with India , step out of Indian Kashmir under illegal occupation of Pakistan, encourage Pakistan to give freedom to Balochistan, give the required freedom to Tibetans , stop claiming Indian territories whether in Arunachal or Ladhak or Garhwal , let Vietnam and other countries in South East Asia fulfil their economic aspirations both on land and sea, do not interfere with freedom of navigation in any waters of the world and stop supporting terrorism in any form or by any country including Pakistan. We Indians do not support any kind of terrorism anywhere whether in Middle East, West Asia ,Central Asia , Afghanistan, Pakistan or even Xingkhiang . We wish to live in peace with all countries and respect their freedom and it includes Taiwan . Please also do not worry about our seat in the Security Council. One day , not very far off , the UN itself along with all the permanent members of the Security council will be begging India to become its Permanent Member to ensure that UN stays relevant.
