From LAC to LoC, our soldiers gave befitting reply to those who challenged country’s sovereignty: PM Modi
Amid border tensions with China, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that Indian soldiers gave a befitting reply to those who tried to pose a challenge to the country’s sovereignty, be it at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) or the Line of Control (LoC).
“From LoC to LAC, whoever tried to challenge the sovereignty of our country got a befitting reply from our soldiers in their own language,” the Prime Minister said without directly naming China or Pakistan.
Referring to the clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley in June this year, he said: “What our jawans can do, what the country can do, the world has seen in Ladakh.”
Addressing the nation on Independence Day from the ramparts of Red Fort, the Prime Minister said that India stands united and is committed to protecting its sovereignty.
“India’s sovereignty is supreme for us,” he added.
Referring to the present scenario, PM Modi said the neighbours are not only those who meet our geographical boundaries but also those who meet our hearts. “Where there is harmony in relationships, bonding occurs.”
The Prime Minister said that while India strives for peace and harmony, it is more committed towards its national security and making the Army stronger.
“India is also fully equipped for self-sufficiency in defence production,” he added.
India and China have held military and diplomatic for disengagement of troops along the LAC and de-escalation in Eastern Ladakh amid border tensions.
Pakistan has been resorting to ceasefire violations along the LoC which have been effectively retaliated by the Indian Army.
