Imran Khan Must Resist Chinese Plan To Turn Pakistan Into Cop
Last Saturday, China’s cross-departmental joint working group to Pakistan visited the scene of a bus blast in Pakistan to express condolences to the nine Chinese nationals who were killed in the explosion. The group also started an investigation into the terrorist attack. It is not clear if the Government of Pakistan has given them the necessary legal clearance to carry out such investigations. Till date no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Wu Wei, deputy director-general of the Department of External Security Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs who leads the joint work team, said that the all-weather friendship between China and Pakistan will not be shaken at all. Wu also said that the team has asked Pakistan to tighten up its security measures to ensure safety of all Chinese workers in the country. This statement clearly indicated that arrogance of the Chinese Communist Party ……instead of making requests they have started issuing directions to the Pakistan Government!!
The bus blast, which the LOCAL authority has clearly stated that it was an accident and nothing more, is reminding the Chinese about the memory of a hotel bomb attack in the Pakistani city of Quetta in April. Although at that time the Pakistani Taliban had said it was behind the hotel bomb attack without specifically referring to China, ( instead used the word “locals and foreigners” at the hotel), while claiming responsibility for the blast. So now the Chinese Communist Party is very worried about Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had said in July 2020 that his government would complete the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) “at any cost.” Such a statement showed the determination of Islamabad, as well as the complex situation there. ……he should now know that the cost is not mere return of the 90 billion dollar loan with interest but also the handing over of Sovereignty of Pakistan to China
Pakistan started becoming a hub of terrorism since the Russians entered and occupied Afghanistan Then by 1987 they had become the very epicenter and started exporting terrorism to India with a plan to wrest Kasmir
Then came the 9/11 terror attacks in New York Seeing the fury of USA, since 2001, Pakistan outwardly changed sides and joined USA at the frontline of the global anti-terrorist campaign Though I eternally it was playing a double game and fooling the Americans like hell and making million of dollars from them in the name of fighting terrorism It was also trying its level best to turn Jammu & Kashmir into a” newAfghanistan”
When USA Forces went all out in Afghanistan then most of Al Qaeda and other extremists, hit by counter-terrorist military actions, fled into Pakistan and were given shelter by the Pakistani establishment ISI began using these terrorists against India Though at times few Afghan Taliban’s who refused to tow the Pakistani line used to be eliminated and shown to the Americans as proof of Pakistan fighting terrorism
Nonetheless, Pakistan has accumulated some experience in its fight against Pakistani Occupation of Baluchistan by the Baluchistan Liberation Front. So Qian Feng, director of the research department at the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University says that “We believe that Pakistan is capable of handling anti-terrorism and security well and ensuring the safety of the Chinese nationals stationed there. There is no doubt that the Pakistani government is very firm and diligent in protecting Chinese investment projects there,” Qian noted.
Beijing and Islamabad have cooperated closely in their anti-terrorism efforts. As a result of the joint work, Hasan Mahsum, head of the terrorist group East Turkestan Islamic Movement, which was behind various violent terror attacks in China’s Xinjiang, was shot dead by the Pakistani army in 2003. This was done in a joint anti-terrorism raid along the Pakistan and Afghanistan border.
However, the international situation in Pakistan remains complex. Baluchistan Liberation Front, Sindh Liberation Front and people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir are now all against Pakistan They have also received full moral support from abroad, making the Pakistan government eat the fruit of its own plantation
It is Now evident that present Government in Islamabad does not have the ability and political will to control International Terrorist Groups established in Pakistan – despite mounting international pressure Pakistan is still on the FATAF grey list
Thus the new challenges to the security situation of Pakistan Government itself and the potential violence targeted at Chinese interests and investments there, it is becoming clear that Islamabad will soon be “asking” help from China to combat terrorism and Beijing will surely provide assistance…..It is just waiting for such a situation to arise
To illustrate this, during the Chinese joint work team’s visit to Pakistan, it will undergo more in-depth consultations with local security authorities in Pakistan to “ establish “ a better mechanism to maintain security and stability there.
The two Government will then “ strengthen cooperation in equipment, materials and information sharing. ” Soon China gain the ability to contain the unstable factors in the security situation on Pakistani soil. Thereafter we will have a new area known as Chinese Occupied Pakistan
