Senegalese president accuses West of forgetting Africa’s needs amid Ukrainian crisis
Macky Sall also pointed to the lack of international solidarity in the face of the economic crisis that the African continent is currently experiencing
The refusal of numerous African countries to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia is, among other things, a reaction to the world community’s indifference to the problems facing African states, including their fight against terrorism, Senegalese President Macky Sall, who is this year’s chairman of the African Union, said on Monday.
“Africa is not against Ukraine,” AFP quoted Sall as saying at the 8th Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa in the Senegalese capital. “However, we see complete and total indifference from other countries to the fact that African states continuously come under terrorist attacks,” the Senegalese president stressed.
Sall also pointed to the lack of international solidarity in the face of the economic crisis that the African continent is currently experiencing.
