Commenting on whether Pakistan is likely to join the list of BRICS partner countries, Ayaz Sadiq said that this was possible.
Pakistan notes Russia’s support and expects to join the list of BRICS partner nations soon, said Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Commenting on whether Pakistan is likely to join the list of BRICS partner countries, Sadiq said that this was possible.
“Yes, we are supported by Russia for BRICS. And hopefully soon we will be joining BRICS [as a partner country].
The Russian government has really supported us in that,” he said.
However he forgets that without India’s clearance this cannot happen. To get India’s support Pakistan must ban all terrorist groups operating inside Pakistan.
The Pakistan military must also take action to dismantle all training camps and then hunt down these terrorists. Proof will have to be given which must be verifiable.
Only after this Pakistan has any chance to become full member of BRICS.After the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia with the rotating Presidency had announced that the group had agreed on a list of its partner countries, though their names were not disclosed.
At the initial stage, invitations would be extended to these nations, and announcements would be made once a positive response is received.
BRICS was founded in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, with South Africa joining in 2011.
On January 1, 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates became full-fledged members.
Next year, Brazil will assume the rotating presidency in the group.
