No mercy and justice for Hindus in today’s Bangladesh

By Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury

December 2, 2024 possibly shall be marked as a black day for Bangladesh as on that day, no lawyer was allowed to appear in a court in Chittagong city in Bangladesh to move bail in favour of Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu, leader of “Sammilito Sanatan Jagoron Jote”, who was arrested on November 25 in a bogus sedition case accusing him and other Hindus of “disrespecting flag of Bangladesh”.

Earlier, Islamist-jihadist conglomerate demanded ban on ISKCON by designating it as a terrorist group while they also demanded declaring “Jai Shri Ram” as “terrorist slogan”.

Such demands were also nurtured by a large number of pro-Islamist and anti-Hindu individuals through social media platforms and YouTube, clearly with the ulterior motive of spreading anti-Hindu sentiment with 160 million Muslim populaces in the country.

Earlier, following Chinmoy Prabhus’s arrest, thousands of protesting Hindus began chanting the slogan “Jai Shri Ram” and attempted to obstruct the prison van transporting him from the court to Chittagong Central Jail.

During this protest, radical Islamic groups suddenly attacked the demonstrators in the presence of law enforcement officials.Amid the chaos, Saiful Islam, an Assistant Public Prosecutor, was brutally killed.

In response, leaders of the ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’ also demanded that ISKCON be labeled a terrorist organization and called for the arrest of Saiful Islam’s killers.

According to reports on social media, Islamists and anti-Hindu elements have been attacking Hindu homes, businesses, and temples in Chittagong and surrounding districts.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s revolutionary Islamist regime led by Trump-hater Muhammad Yunus is attempting to justify the incident stating, court could not hear the bail petition as no lawyer was willing to appear for Hindu monk Chinmoy – despite the fact, such claims are blatant lies as international media is continuously exposing (with video footage) proving, Hindu lawyers was obstructed by Islamists and their chambers were vandalized.

Some pro-Islamist lawyers publicly threatened to physically assault Hindu lawyers if they appeared in the court on behalf of Chinmoy Krishna as well as other leaders of Hindu community and ISKCON.

It may be mentioned here that, the surge in violence and systematic persecution of Hindus began after Sheikh Hasina abruptly fled Bangladesh on August 5, 2024, amid widespread protests.

On August 8, a revolutionary Islamist government was sworn in, with Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, who also is known as Trump-hater as the chief advisor.

Yunus, a known donor to the Clinton Foundation, received strong backing from prominent Democratic Party leaders. According to a leaked diplomatic cable from WikiLeaks, Hillary Clinton exerted pressure on Bangladesh’s military in 2007 to make Yunus the head of an interim government.

Since August 2024, Hindus in Bangladesh have faced relentless attacks on their homes, businesses, and temples. Local media have been barred from covering these incidents, and most international media outlets, barring a few Indian ones, have refrained from reporting on these horrors.

Members of the “Stranded Pakistanis” community, also known as Biharis, have reportedly joined these acts of violence against Hindus.

Yunus’s government has also freed convicted terrorists, including Jashimuddin Rahmani, the leader of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Ansarullah Bangla Team (later rebranded as ‘Ansar Al Islam), who was convicted of abetting the murder of a secular blogger Avijit Roy in 2013.

On December 20, 2021, the US Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, through its Rewards for Justice (RFJ) office, announced a reward for information on the terrorist attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh that left US citizen Avijit Roy dead and his wife, Rafida Bonya Ahmed, seriously injured. Rahmani’s organization claimed responsibility for the attack.

With such uncertainty about the future of Bangladesh and questions raised by many about the possibility of the country slipping towards the fate of another Islamist nation or Caliphate, the United Kingdom has issued a strong travel advisory warning its citizens against traveling to Bangladesh because of the increasing violence and the increased risk of terrorist attacks.

In the travel advisory, the UK government stated, “FCDO [Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office] advises against all but essential travel to the Chittagong Hill Tracts, as there are regular reports of violence and other criminal activity, particularly in more remote parts. The area is made up of the districts of Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban”.

Meanwhile, according to credible sources, similar travel advisory may also be issued by Australian, Canadian, European Union nations and the United States, while another source claimed, key figures of the upcoming Trump administration also are closely monitoring situation in Bangladesh, particularly ongoing genocide on Hindus and violent rise of Islamist and jihadist forces alongside visible presence of the members of Al Qaeda, Islamic State (ISIS) and other regional and global terrorist groups.

It further said, as Yunus administration has “miserably failed” to ensure persecution targeting Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and other religious minorities and ethnic groups, President Donald may finally take several stern measures, including punitive tariffs on exports from Bangladesh as well impose sanctions on at least half-a-dozen of key figures in the revolutionary Islamist regime which may also include few top brasses in the civil-military administration.

According to the source, Donald Trump shall show zero tolerance towards violation of human rights, press freedom, freedom of expression and rights of religious minorities throughout the world, where Bangladesh remains on its radar.
