Africa needs Russian know-how, technologies, experts — Chad’s envoy to Russia
The diplomat also noted that Africa believes in relations with Russia because of its past experience with the Soviet Union, which never let the countries of the continent down
Africa expects Russia to export technologies to the continent, as well as its know-how, and with these two things African countries will be able to process local resources on their own, Ambassador of the Republic of Chad to Moscow Mahamoud Adam Bechir said at the plenary session of the Tyumen Export Forum.
“We want Russia to export not only processed and improved raw materials that will be ready for use. We want Russia to export know-how, export knowledge, bring in small companies that will process our local resources, bring in technical specialists who will teach us, teach the local authorities, share their expertise,” he said.
The diplomat also noted that Africa believes in relations with Russia because of its past experience with the Soviet Union, which never let the countries of the continent down. Chad expects that technical personnel who have been trained in Russia will come to the country to find their place within the country and be ready for practical work.
The ambassador added that the traditional aid for Africa from partners does not help African countries in any way. In return for exported raw materials they receive the same processed raw materials at ten times the price, which does not increase the number of jobs in any way.
The Tyumen Export Forum is taking place on December 1, with delegations from China, Bangladesh, Ghana, Morocco and Chad participating. In total, more than 40 specialized experts are working on the forum’s side-lines.
