Armenia, Saudi Arabia establish diplomatic relations
The protocol was signed by the Ambassador of Armenia to the UAE Karen Grigoryan and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UAE Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Angar
Armenia and Saudi Arabia have signed a protocol on establishing diplomatic relations, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“On November 25, a protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The protocol was signed in Abu Dhabi by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the UAE, Karen Grigoryan, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UAE, Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Angari,” the statement said.
Yerevan and Riyadh have not maintained diplomatic ties since Armenia became independent following the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.
