Australia raises concerns with India over Canadian claims, they better do the same over India’s concerns on Khalistani terrorists in Canada
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong has raised concerns with India after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Indian-backed agents of murder.
Australia has jumped to raise concerns with India about a fatal shooting in Canada that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has blamed on India-backed agents. However till date it has not raised concerns with Canada over the Khalistani terrorist outfits operating with impunity in Canada.
We Indians are fully aware that ever since Trudeau has become the PM of Canada with backing of Khalistani Separatists, he has pacvorded them full freedom. We also know that Australia is part of tge 5 Eyes Alliance. However India knows how to defend its interest and is fully capable of doing so.
Though terrorist Nijjar has been killed in an intergang warfare, just like USA India too reserves the right to strike anywhere in the world to preserve its Sovereignty, notwithstanding even Blinkens ir Bidens views on the subject.
Speaking in New York where she is attending the UN General Assembly, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said the suggestion India was involved in a killing on Canadian soil was “concerning”. Now she must show equal “ concern “ over Khalistani activities and threats issued by these outfits from the Canadian soil.
“I note that investigations are still underway,” Senator Wong said. Well we Indians will strongly encourage the Govt of Canada to strengthen its law and Order and crime investigating agencies and investigate this killing on priority. They should also request the 5 Eyes to help them in this criminal investigation, instead of illegally snooping on various embassies in blatant violation of Geneva accord. Such snooping activities of 5 Eyes Alliance will only ensure that other countries also start snooping activities particularly on embassies of USA, UK, Canada, Australia and NewZealand, with vigour.
“Australia’s principal position is that we believe the sovereignty of a country should be respected. We believe the rule of law should be respected.” She declined to give further detail, and would not comment on a Washington Post report that said Canada had asked its intelligence allies — which include Australia — to condemn India.
The Washington Post claims that Mr Trudeau approached Canada’s allies several weeks ago and asked them to publicly condemn the murder, but he was rebuffed.
Canada’s foreign ministry has denied the Washington Post’s claim.
“We will continue to keep our allies, including at the officials level, apprised of relevant information, while Canadian security agencies work fast to get to the bottom of the matter,” a spokeswoman said.
Senator Wong was asked if the allegations left her with any concerns about potential foreign interference from India on Australian soil.
“I think Australia is a robust democracy and I think the Indian diaspora has a range of views and we have made clear … that the peaceful expression of different views is a key part of Australia’s democracy,” she said.
Experts have told the ABC the diplomatic stoush puts Australia, which counts both India and Canada as allies, in a tricky place.
