China will not be first to use nuclear weapons – foreign minister
Wang Yi recalled that China’s top leadership opposed the use of nuclear arsenals and waging wars with their help
China does not intend to be the first to use nuclear weapons against anyone, including Ukraine, Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said.
“We have made it clear to the whole world that China will not use nuclear weapons against countries that do not possess them,” Wang told the Munich Security Conference. “Nor will we be the first to use nuclear weapons against any country, including Ukraine.”
Wang recalled that China’s top leadership opposed the use of nuclear arsenals and waging wars with their help. He noted Beijing’s firm commitment to international obligations and contribution to ensuring global security.
