Chinese Netizens Not Liking India’s Rapid Development In Space

China was thinking that it would become the only country to have its exclusive space station in operation, by 2024 or 2030 at the latest. The existing Space Stations being International one.

To their utter surprise they have been shocked to see that by 2030 even India, a late starter in the field, may be having its own exclusive Space Station. India’s Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Jitendra Singh, announced in the parliament that India’s first space station would be set up by 2030. The country’s long-awaited human spaceflight “Gaganyaan” is slated for launch this year.

Net traffic indicates that above news has caused a major “Stomach upset “ among the Chinese Netizens and the Chinese Media. Naturally Chinese Government Controlled media are trying to boost their own confidence by dismissing the Indian announcement as too ambitious a plans for a space station. They seem to have already forgotten the Indian Mangalyaan, sort of established a record on many a parameters including budget.

It is still operational, orbiting around Planet Mangal, several times past its expiry date. In 2014, India became the only country in the world that has succeeded in its first attempt to send a probe to the Planet Mangal. Its Mangalyaan probe has been working for more than seven years and the country also set a world record in launching 104 satellites on a single mission in 2017.

Beijing sent its first lunar mission Chang’e 1, in 2007, and New Delhi followed suit with its Chandrayaan 1, in 2008. Then when USA, Russia and China all three were gloating and bickering about anti satellite weapons, India once again surprised them with a very accurate test demonstration of a similar weapon.

Similarly, very recently India has demonstrated its hypersonic capabilities through a very accurate test.

While China gears up to become the only country to have an exclusive space station for few months or years, India also has its own plans for a Space Station in a few years. Very likely both USA and Russia will have theirs too before that.

“China initiated its manned spaceflight project in 1992 and is scheduled to complete the in-orbit construction of its space station by the end of 2022 after 30 years. India kicked off the project in 2007 and says it will have a space station by the end of 2030, which is very ambitious,” a Chinese netizen commented. Well it’s surprise surprised they way. So better to revive a tune of 1950s HINDI CHINI BHAI BHAI rather than cast aspersions.

Though many sensible Chinese citizens do say that they expect to see India achieve its goal, noting that it should not be despised in the aerospace industry given its rapid progress in recent years. It also has advantages in international cooperation and high cost-effective products.

It is very likely that India will become the fourth country in the world to develop independent manned spaceflight technology sooner than later.

So do we set a race, say for CMS …..Chandrama Station or as per our Indian folklore the Chandamama Station.
