Formidable Missile Defence Of India Is Going To Surprise China Completely

China perception wise may be more powerful than India , especially in the eyes of Western powers, with a larger economy and a military that is rapidly procuring advanced conventional and nuclear weapons. However on ground India with own nuclear weapons, an Indian missile system that could intercept Chinese ballistic missiles and a very battled experienced and hardened Armed Forces has more than enough deterrence capabilities versus China. This was adequately displayed during both the Doklam crisis in the Himalayas and the Maldives crisis in the Indian Ocean. Unlike the USA , India stood its ground against the Chinese bluff and then Beijing had no choice but to back down.

Chinese media keeps claiming that India isn’t capable of building an effective missile defence system. India will not react to such claims and come out with any data. However the blowing of a Satellite in orbit, the perfect Mangalyaan mission and the Chandrama missions should be good indicators of Indian capabilities. India can never get discouraged or disheartened by such low grade rhetoric’s of Global Times and such other cheap propaganda belching tabloids.

“Generally speaking, although India has made considerable progress in the independent R&D and deployment of ballistic missile defence system in recent years, it is still faced with a string of difficulties, such as inadequate capital, unsmooth R&D process, heavy reliance on other countries regarding key technology, and incomplete systems. New Delhi has a long way to go before it can establish a truly effective ballistic missile defence system and fully exert its real combat force”writes Fang Xiaozhi, a researcher at the BRI Institute of Strategy and International Security at Fudan University.
In case the above is true then why are the Chinese worried so much and what do they want to achieve by writing such articles. Indians involved in the missile defence systems will not be bothered by such writings. Also there is no shortage of funds , though we do not splurge  on such things . Then we have are own technology  but are not shy  of learning from others .So probably they are trying to boost the morale of their own Armed Forces.

India entered the ballistic missile development field on its own and now  in spite of MTCR  , even has ballistic missile defence (BMD), interceptors as well as an anti-satellite weapon system . Indian BMD is a two-tiered system which are as good as any other system fielded by any other country. Latest versions of Prithvi missiles have been further enhanced for Exo-atmospheric intercepts in space, and the Advanced Area Defence missile for endo-atmospheric intercepts within the Earth’s atmosphere, during the descent phase of the enemy missile.

In January 2020, there was news in Indian media that BMD development and testing had been successfully completed, and that the system was ready for deployment.

However, the Chinese analyst living and believing their own propaganda dismissed Indian successes as invalid. “India has adopted the most conservative plan in all its anti-missile tests – only intercepting a target whose launching spot, flying velocity and direction, altitude or ballistic parameters are all known and there is no actively manoeuvring and changing trajectory,” Fang said. “This testing approach of ‘hitting a fixed target’ doesn’t comply with real combat situation, nor can it truly test the anti-missile system’s stability and reliability, so the testing results are hardly reliable.”
A country whose armed forces have not seen real war since last 45 years are talking of combat situation. Its like their aircraft carrier Liaoning with which they like to compare with the Indian Naval Aviation experience of nearly 60 years.

Notwithstanding Fang and his venom , India has more than enough technological capability for effective missile systems. A soon to be fielded 800km BRAHMOS should be enough of a demonstration to the Chinese. Then a few training launch of  400 km range BRAHMOS by the Vietnamese forces should put all Chinese doubts to rest regarding Indian ability and capability.
The Indian anti-missile early warning system, missile interception system and command and control system, most are in place. They Compare well with Russia, the US, Israel and other countries with strong anti-missile capabilities. India’s technology and its R&D has always been surprising the world at regular intervals. Though unlike others India conducts too few tests, so as not to get into competition with    others.

Are the Chinese ready to try out the Indian missile defence system , in case they are so dismissive of its technology ?
