Half of Americans support Canadian provinces joining US — poll

The survey was held online and by phone from February 24 to 26
Half of Americans would back the entry of Canadian provinces into the United States, showed a survey conducted by the Rasmussen Reports research organization.
Its data show that 50% of respondents said that if several Canadian provinces broke away from the country, they would approve of their joining the United States.
Of these, 24% would strongly support this initiative. However, 35% of the survey participants oppose this view. Another 15% of the respondents were undecided.
The survey was held online and by phone from February 24 to 26. Over 1,200 potential American voters participated. The error margin was 3 percentage points.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that many Canadians are in favor of their country becoming the 51st state of the United States.
He believes that such a union will bring economic stability to Canada and protect it from external threats, which, according to the US president, come from, in particular, Russia and China.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded by declaring that his country would never become the 51st state of the United States.
