Here’re 5 Aadhaar services you can access online from UIDAI

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on its self-service portal offers a variety of services that you can avail online.

Given below are the five such services.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on its self-service portal offers a variety of services that you can avail online. It includes basic correction and updation of information as well such as address update, correction in date of birth, name, gender, locking and unlocking of Aadhaar biometric authentication, etc.

Time to time UIDAI keeps introducing the new services by keeping the Aadhaar holders’ convenience in mind. It is to be noted that the 12-digit identification number issued by the UIDAI is Aadhaar number. Given below are the services that can be availed online.

1. Update your address online-

If you have recently changed your address then you can update online directly with the valid documents or with the address validation letter. For this, visit the official website of uidai. Under ‘My Aadhaar’ tab select ‘Update your address online’. On the page opened login with your 12- digit Aadhaar number or 16-digit Virtual ID, enter the captcha for verification and the one-time password (OTP) received on the registered mobile number.

2. Check Aadhaar Status-

If you have applied for Aadhaar and have not received yet then you check its status online. From uidai website, select ‘Update your Aadhaar’ from ‘My Aadhaar’ tab. To know if your Aadhaar is generated or not enter your enrolment ID and security code and click ‘Check Status’.

3. Request for order Aadhaar Reprint-

Under ‘My Aadhaar’ tab select ‘Order Aadhaar Reprint’. Enter your Aadhaar number and other required details, give your current mobile number of verification, make payment and get SRN. After this Aadhaar Letter will be delivered to your address.

4. Lock Aadhaar biometric authentication-

Visit the UIDAI website and from the homepage, select ‘Lock/Unlock biometrics’ from ‘My Aadhar’ tab. Enter your Aadhaar UID/VID along with security code and click ‘Send OTP’. This OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter OTP and click ‘Submit’. Fill in the required details and click on ‘Enable’ to activate the biometric lock.

5. Unlock the biometrics-

In order to unlock the biometric, log in to UIDAI website and click on ‘Unlock’. Fill in the required details and click ‘Disable’ to proceed. After this, you will receive the message from UIDAI saying, “Your Biometric Lock is disabled.
