In Spite Of All kinds of Support To Pakistan, China outraged By Indian support To Taiwan
Chinese forcibly occupied Tibet and parts of Ladakh and India ignored it. The result was 1962 attack by China on 4 Infantry Division in Arunachal and 3 Infantry Division in Ladakh.
Now they have been laying claim on entire Arunachal Pradesh and recently have again become active in Ladakh Sector and also Sikkim. They have also been providing all types of financial and military support to Pakistan (a territory carved out of India ) to propagate terrorism in India. Indians have been ignoring these things for long but no more. Unlike 1962, we now have the ability, capability and the Will Power to take the battle across Occupied Tibet, right into China.
So for a change when two Indian Parliamentarians VIRTUALLY attended the Swearing in ceremony of Taiwan’s President Tsai Ingwen second term and also sent congratulatory messages it Outraged the Chinese Government as expected. It was a deliberate and planned action by our parliamentarians.
By this subtle support that the ruling BJP, to which the two MPs belong, extended to the democratically elected government of Taiwan, a clear message has been given to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its regime. Here it needs to be clarified, that unlike China, in democratic India, the political party ( even if it forms the Government ) has no constitutional powers over the Government.
China has indeed been outraged as hoped by us Indians. They have angrily asked India to “refrain from such acts.”
As most of the international travel remains suspended due to the Wuhan Virus pandemic which originated in Wuhan city of Hubei province in China, Lekhi and Kaswan were among the 92 dignitaries, including US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, representing 41 countries, who virtually participated in the ceremony.
Though the Indian government did not officially participate in the event, the presence of two well-known BJP MPs miffed China so much that its Foreign Ministry without naming anyone on the same day objected and hoped everyone would “support the just cause of Chinese people to oppose the secessionist activities for ‘Taiwan independence’ and realise national reunification.”.
Amazing reaction by the Chinese. Pakistani terror activities in Jammu & Kashmir seems very peaceful to them indeed. Chinese construction work in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir under CPEC dies not violate any Indian Sovereignty issue. Chinese claim over Indian State of Arunachal is very normal.
However democratic activities in Taiwan a independent nation since 1947 becomes Secessionist activities. For us Indians Taiwan is as free a country as Bangladesh and Pakistan, though till 1947 they too were part of India.
So counsellor (parliament) of the embassy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in New Delhi, Liu Bing ji instead of registering CCP’s protest against India’s participation in the ceremony, please write to your government to accept Taiwan as a free country.
Also by writing to both Lekhi and Kaswan you have achieved nothing. They are members of Indian Parliament and have the same freedom as any other citizen of India to express solidarity with a country which has friendly relations with India.
In his complaint, Liu called Lekhi and Kaswan’s congratulatory message to President Tsai “utterly wrong” which needs to be “corrected”.
The one-China principle, enshrined by the UN Charter and its relevant resolutions, is a generally recognized norm in international relations and a general consensus of the international community,” he claimed.
In case you want Indians to adhere to “ One China “ principle then you also please ask all Chinese citizen to adhere to “ Akhand Bharat “ of pre partition 1947.
Liu Bing reminded the parliamentarians that “the Indian governments have pledged to adhere to one-China principle since the bilateral ties were established seventy years ago.”
Sorry this a totally wrong statement. Any treaty will be binding on current Indian Government only if such “ principles “ were ratified by the Indian Parliament.
In any case nowadays Indians have started advocating a policy of “ if you kill my rat, I will kill your cat “. Plain and simple.
“Any wrong signals” including the message of congratulation to President Tsai, Liu warned, “will encourage those separatists to go even farther on the wrong and dangerous track, which would ultimately undermine the peace and prosperity of the region.” Great saying shri Liu Bing but first tell your Government to stop encouraging Pakistan from supporting terrorism and separatism in J& K.
We Indians respect the rights of Taiwanese people to retain their independence and way of life. They cannot be forced to get united with a non democratic regime. Though if any reciprocation on this subject is expected then China should also give full support to cause if AKHAND BHARAT.
President Tsai is the duly elected leader of Taiwan, a free country in all respect. A Chinese official posted in Chinese Embassy in New Delhi has no business to make any statement against any third country and thereby hurt Indian sentiments.
Liu stating “unfortunately, the authority led by her in Taiwan province has refused to accept the ‘1992 consensus’ that both sides of the Taiwan Straits belong to one China and will work together towards national unification” is a very unfortunate incident for which the Chinese Ambassador must issue an apology letter forthwith.
The Communist Party of China gained control of the mainland China in 1949 in a heavily and bitterly contested military fight, pushing out the legitimate Republic of China (ROC) government to the island state of Taiwan. Since then Taiwan has flourished as an independent state both economically and militarily.
Though status of Taiwan did suffer when due to foolishness of Western Powers the ROC was replaced by the PRC’s membership at the UN in 1971. The PRC refuses diplomatic ties with countries that recognize Taiwan as an independent state. India will now be not bothered by such duplicities of the Government of PRC.
