India uncovers Pakistan’s linkages in Kashmir terrorist attack

According to India’s Foreign Minister of State Shri Vikram Misri, the attack came after a successful election in Jammu and Kashmir and amid the region’s economic development
India found cross-border links in the terrorist attack in the Indian territory of Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 people, India’s Minister of State, Foreign Ministry Shri Vikram Misri said at a news conference.
“During a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security cross-border linkages of the terrorist attack were brought out,” he said following the meeting that was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Misri, the attack came after a successful election in Jammu and Kashmir and amid the region’s economic development. The diplomat said the attack killed 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese national, injuring several others.
“The Cabinet Committee analyzed the overall security situation and ordered all services to remain vigilant. It has been decided that the perpetrators of the attack and their sponsors will be brought to justice.
India will be unrelenting in the pursuit of those who have committed acts of terror,” the official said.Gunfire erupted in the town of Pahalgam in northern India on Tuesday afternoon.
Khaki-clad armed men opened fire with automatic rifles at tourists. The attackers demanded that some tourists show identification documents, asking them about their faith. It is believed there were six attackers.
They were able to flee the scene. Indian Army and Central security forces along with UT Police cordoned off the area and are on the lookout for the suspects.

The Times of India reported, citing intelligence sources, that the attack was the handiwork of the Resistance Front, a sabotage outfit of the Pakistan-based radical group Lashkar-e-Taiba which is also banned in Russia.
