India’s Economic De Linking From China Gains Speed

The Government of China it seems has been genuinely surprised by the various actions of the Indian Government post Galwan incident. Chinese had so far been segmenting their various nefarious activities and even India had been responding to them in a very defensive and guarded manner. The Chinese had got so used to it since 1950’s that they failed to notice the resolve of the NDA Government which came to power in 2014.
Every other country had started bending or bowing in front of China. So in 2018 the Chinese received their first shock at Dokalam when the PLA was prevented by the Indian Army from grabbing Bhutanese territory.
Next the Chinese protégé in the Maldives was unceremoniously thrown out by a democratically held elections and India backed the new Government to the hilt. Thus furious Chinese Communist Party and the PLA together planned to teach India a lesson. This time they struck at Galwan Valley in Ladhak. However the final outcome was not expected by them. They killed 20 Indian Soldiers and in the bargain lost over 40 and another 40 Chinese were wounded.

This time India has decided to break all economic and Social relationship with China. India has resolved that it will have no trade relations with a Country that attacks and kills it soldiers. Also militarily India has stood up to China and indicated its resolve and capability to take the battle into Tibet in order to help the Tibetan people to gain independence.
As it is the NDA Government after coming to power in 2014 had launched a national campaign to “ Make in India” and the most recent slogan has been “Self-reliant India Mission. ” Now after the spread of Wuhan Virus even the rest of the World has realized the danger of over dependence on the Chinese Supply Chain.
When the British East Company managed to establish its rule in India, at that time the Indian GDP was nearly 30 % of the World’s GDP. By 1947 the British had looted India of trillions of Dollars and devastated its rural agricultural system completely. During this process of loot, India had suffered several massive famine in which millions had died. The great famine of 1770, for example, caused approximately 10 million deaths. The Bengal famine of 1943, which happened in the former Bengal province of British India, caused approximately 3 millions to perish.

After the independence of India in 1947, the country slowly achieved basic agricultural self-reliance and by 1990s became totally self reliant in the field of agriculture. The days of American food aid and World Bank interventions were totally wiped out by the great Prime Minister Narsimha Rao.

Step by step India has become the World’s third largest economy without resorting to falsification of production data. Now it is following the grand and proud dream of regaining its true position as the World’s global power.India has started orienting its foreign policy accordingly too. No first world country or China can now dictate any kind of economic or military terms to India.

While facing the Salami Slicing technique of PLA to grab Indian territory, India has decided to not only stand up militarily but also economically against China which has manipulated itself to the position of the Second largest Economy. India has now started using economic measures to force a decoupling from all linkages with the Chinese economy.

In fact, India’s historical memories also helps it in prompting it to be extremely skeptical toward any Chinese investments in India. There will be no Chinese investment in India till the Indian Tibetan border gets fully negotiated by all stake holders and is demarcated both on map and ground. Period.

India has taken the lead to breakaway from the Chinese Supply Chain and the rest of the World has started following it too. India will protect its trade and insulate it against China. The tragedy of a centralized global supply chain has been made clear by the Spread of the Wuhan Virus.

The economic interdependence between India and China in a globalized world is already being delinked in a phased manner. India has resolved to do this even if it causes some harm to its economy in the Short term.

In case China wishes to cooperate with India, then first of all it must apologize for its attack on Indian troops at Galwan and thereafter negotiate the Indian Tibetan border without fail. Only then China and India can embrace a new future with peace, prosperity, and dignity that all the developing states are entitled to enjoy.
