Joint Army And Security Forces Operations Eliminate Three Terrorists In Spore
Three terrorists were hunted down in Sopre area of Kashmir Valley in joint operations carried out by Army and the Security Forces. The terrorists have been identified as Faisal Fayaz resident of Kapren,Shopian, Gh Mustafa Sheikh resident of Tekipura, Kupwara and Rameez Ah Ghanie resident of Zipor Dharamati, Shopian. All three were members of banned terror outfit LeT (TRF).
Jammu and Kashmir Police issued a statement regarding the above action saying that three unidentified terrorists were killed in an encounter in Sopore on Tuesday and arms and ammunition besides other incriminating material have been recovered from the site of the gunfight.
A joint team of Army and security forces had launched a joint cordon and search operation on specific input regarding the presence of terrorists in the Pethseer area of Sopore.
During the night of Monday – Tuesday, based on specific input generated by the Police regarding the presence of terrorists in the Pethseer area of Sopore, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Sopore Police,, CRPF and 52 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army said the Police the statement.
When the presence of terrorists was confirmed during search, they were given the opportunity to surrender.However, they started firing upon the joint search party which was retaliated leading to their elimination. The three terrorists were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of the encounter.
The terrorists were part of groups involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities. Incriminating materials, including one AK-47 rifle and two pistols were recovered from the site of the encounter along with ammunition. Further investigation to probe their complicity in other terror crimes is going on.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and an investigation has been initiated. More than 100 terrorists have been eliminated this year in Kashmir Division itself. All these have in joint operations comprising Army and the Security Forces.
IG Kashmir Division has congratulated the Security teams of J& K Police and CRPF teams working with great synergy and coordination on the ground for achieving this milestone and termed it as a big success.
