Many Thousand Long Marches…… Dandi March Dandi March……..Azadi
By
Colonel Krityanand Das, Veteran
Poem
Alone or in groups.
They marched towards homes.
On low wages they had
Built few thousand Romes.
And when time came
To hold their hand.
Individuals and institutes
Just hid their heads in sand.
No money in pocket
No food in mouth.
No shelter, no shade
They marched from West and South.
No leader to lead.
No guide to guide.
No buses, no trains
No planes to ride.
Men, women, children
marched on and on.
With hunger and fatigue
Crossing village and town.
An ungrateful nation
Just turned it’s face.
How sad, how bad,
A total disgrace.
You are the Marx, the Lenin of the day.
Your are the Mao, the Red Sun’s ray.
Now that you have reached home
Do not return.
Set the system right away.
Get after it night and day.
Give it a twist.
And let it turn.
Let new order evolve.
Set old to burn.
Time you put the ocean to churn.
Time you set this nation to learn.
Be there and set things right
Fight and put the rascals to flight.
Time will create the Victory Arch
A new order will evolve
With these thousand Long March!
