Pakistan plans to buy wheat from Russia

According to Shafqat Ali Khan, “Generally, we are sell-sufficient in food, but at times we are short”

Pakistan intends to buy wheat from Russia, technical experts already discuss this issue, Pakistani Ambassador to Moscow Shafqat Ali Khan said in an interview.

“The two technical sides are already discussing that. We want to procure wheat from Russia,” he said.

According to the ambassador, “Generally, we are sell-sufficient in food, but at times we are short. So, Russia has emerged as a new supplier for us, earlier it used to be different other countries. We look to Russia as a long-term, stable partner when it comes to food supplies for us.”

“In the past also when we were dealing with large-scale natural disasters like 2005 earthquake or 2010 floods at that time also Russian people helped us. We still remember that,” he added, thanking Russia for humanitarian aid to Pakistan.
