Raj Kundra pornography case: Shilpa Shetty takes legal action against defamatory content on Facebook and Instagram

Ever since Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch, new developments are being reported every day. Raj’s wife, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty now has moved the High Court against defamatory content that has been published on social media platforms.

The actress has not just filed a defamation suit against media houses, but according to Bar and Bench, the actress has also slammed social media apps such as Facebook and Instagram for publishing defamatory content against her.READ ALSO

ETimes has previously confirmed that Shilpa Shetty had named 29 media personnel and media houses for ‘doing false reporting & maligning her image’ in a pornography case in which her husband Raj Kundra is accused. Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 and was sent to judicial custody on July 23. The Mumbai police had also raided Raj and Shilpa Shetty’s plush Juhu bungalow where the Bollywood actress was questioned by the cops.

Shilpa has reportedly maintained in her statement that her husband is not involved in producing porn content. She also mentioned that erotica is different from porn, the distribution of which her husband has been accused. Apart from the pornography case, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have also been fined by SEBI.

The Markets regulator has slapped a monetary penalty of Rs 3 lakh on Viaan Industries Ltd, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Ripu Sudan Kundra aka Raj Kundra, for disclosure lapses and consequent violation of insider trading norms.

Sherlyn Chopra had recently alleged that Raj Kundra had assaulted her and fearing arrest that actress had applied for anticipatory bail. However, Mumbai Sessions court rejected her anticipatory bail application in the pornography case related to businessman Raj Kundra.
