Russia, Tajikistan completely abandon foreign currencies in settlements

“Russian and Tajik citizens have the opportunity to make cross-border money transfers through the fast payment system,” the Russian president noted.
Moscow and Dushanbe have almost completely abandoned foreign currencies in bilateral settlements, with the share of the Ruble reaching 96%, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon in the Kremlin.
“Russia and Tajikistan have almost completely abandoned the use of foreign currencies in financial transactions. The share of the ruble in commercial transactions exceeded 96% last year,” Putin said.
“A number of Tajik banks have connected to the financial messaging system of the Bank of Russia. Russian and Tajik citizens have the opportunity to make cross-border money transfers through the fast payment system,” the Russian president said.
“The issues of wider use of Russian Mir payment cards in Tajikistan are being reviewed,” he added.
According to Putin, the authorities of the two countries are constantly working to improve the mutual trade and investment regime and create conditions for profitable projects.
