Russia to reach carbon neutrality by 2060
No one and nothing will prevent us from doing that, he said
Moscow remains committed to the goals of the Paris Agreement and intends to reach carbon neutrality no later than by 2060, head of Russia’s delegation at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Ruslan Edelgeriyev said.
“We remain committed to the goals of the Paris Agreement, intend to reach carbon neutrality no later than by 2060 and meet all other national goals set for execution of this crucial document. No one and nothing will prevent us from doing that,” he said.
Russia keeps developing its domestic carbon market with both voluntary and obligatory elements, Edelgeriyev added.
COP28 will be held until December 12.
