Russia’s grain harvest likely to be over 130 mln tonnes this year
Exports can reach 50 mln tonnes in two-three years, the Russian President also noted
The grain harvest in Russia can be above 130 mln tonnes in this year and exports can reach 50 mln tonnes in two-three years, President Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with young entrepreneurs.
“Our export potential turned out to be fairly serious. We had 20 mln tonnes, then 30 mln tonnes, then we will achieve about 37 mln tonnes for sale in this year of 2021-2022. It will stand at 50 mln tonnes in two-three years. We are scaling up production. We will hopefully have 130-plus mln tonnes harvest this year,” the head of state said.
Russia has the good base in the seed industry and there is a need to achieve the share of using domestic seeds in the country amounting to 75% at the least, Putin added.
