Salman Khan’s bodyguard booked for ‘threat call’ to woman

The complainant alleged that after she agreed to help him, she received a call Friday from a person who identified himself as Shera. She alleged that Shera told her not to interfere in the matter

An FIR has been registered against actor Salman Khan’s bodyguard, Gurmeet Singh alias Shera, for allegedly calling up a woman and threatening her. In her statement, the woman who is into garment business has told the police that one Zubair Khan, a contestant in a reality show hosted by Salman, had approached her earlier this month seeking help to file an FIR against the actor. The complainant alleged that after she agreed to help him, she received a call Friday from a person who identified himself as Shera. She alleged that Shera told her not to interfere in the matter.

The woman added that when she told Shera that she had no intention of backing out, he abused her and threatened to tarnish her reputation. The complainant, who said she had recorded the call in her phone, took the audio clip to the Khar police station.

Based on the audio recording, the Khar police registered a case against Shera under Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code that carries maximum imprisonment term for a period of one year.

Talking to the media, Shera denied that he had spoken to the complainant.

A year ago, Shera, along with three others, had been booked by the Mumbai Police on charges of assaulting a 25-year-old Vile Parle resident. ENS
