Never discourage a child if he or she is not good at studies. Here is an instance to prove why we need to encourage a slow learner.

Sirisetti Sankeerth was moderately performing in academics till Class VII. He gradually managed to improve his show and fared well in higher education. He achieved the 330th rank in the civil services examination of which results were declared on Tuesday. And he exemplified that one can excel in studies if a poor learner is backed up.

The elder son of Satyanaraya, an electrician with the exploration department of Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s (SCCL), secured 330th rank in the examinations and is all set to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer soon. He cracked it in his fifth attempt, showing his determination to become a civil servant. He is a native of Bellampalli town.

“Sankeerth was ‘an average’ performing student till upper primary schooling. He, however, bettered his show in later phases of education with the help of teachers. He pursued civil engineering at the College of Engineering, Osmania University Hyderabad after excelling in EAMCET. He appeared the examination of UPSC five times and finally realised his dream,” Satyanarayana told Telangana Today.

The electrician attributed his son’s achievement to the guidance and quality education offered by teachers of Mother’s Convent High School of Bellampalli. “I always thank them for motivating Sankeerth and laying focus on him,” he credited, adding, the ranker was always determined to become an IAS officer and he prepared for the examination by spending 16 hours a day.

Satyanaryana opined that he was elated to be the father of the civil service ranker. “It’s a proud moment for our family and the miner community. The coal belt comparatively produces few civil servants. My son brought recognition to us, town and the district by shining in the toughest national-level test,” he remarked

Sankeerth, who is currently working as an assistant executive engineer with Mission Bhageeratha scheme in Adilabad district, said that he accomplished his endeavor by choosing anthropology as his optional subject. He was confident that he would be offered IAS cadre with the help of the rank. He thanked his teachers, parents and faculty of his coaching centre.
