A team of four astronauts from Japan, Denmark, Russia and the United States aboard a SpaceX craft successfully docked with the International Space Station on Sunday.

The Crew-7 mission comprising of NASA’s Jasmin Moghbeli, Satoshi Furukawa of Japan, Andreas Mogensen of Denmark and Konstantin Borisov of Russia will stay on the ISS for about six months.

Furukawa will conduct experiments using new technology to reuse water for a potential future mission on the Moon. He is also expected to be the subject of a study looking into the effects of an extended stay in space on various organs.

It is the 59-year-old medical doctor’s second time on the ISS.

The crew lifted off Saturday on the SpaceX Dragon space capsule, called Endurance, atop the Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Centre of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Florida.
