State of emergency declared in Sri Lanka

A state of emergency was declared in Sri Lanka on Wednesday, the Sri Lankan Prime Minister’s Office said.

The declaration was made after President Gotabaya Rajapaksa left Sri Lanka amid an economic crisis.
