According to a CCTV footage, it is visible that a jeweller from Lucknow is being picked up by Nepal police officers.
Nepal police have been accused of picking a jeweller forcibly from Keshav Nagar area in Lucknow without informing the local cops.
It is visible in a CCTV footage that he was picked up.
On September 28 around 6.30 pm, a 63-year-old jeweller named Kishorilal Soni living in Madiaon area of Lucknow was kidnapped from Keshav Nagar by two unidentified people who came in a white car.
They dragged him forcibly into their car while he was returning home on a scooty. Right after he was kidnapped two other men came on a two-wheeler right after the incident, one of them fled with jewellers vehicle from the spot. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
Kishorilal’s son Vikas said, ” When my father didn’t return home from his shop till late evening we approached the local police station as both his mobile phones were switched off. A case was filed at the Madiaon police station.
However next day we got a call from Nepal police that my father has been arrested from Jamaha area in their country related to incident of murder and dacoity that took place in 2006.”
“My sister Deepa got married in Nepalganj town in Banke district of Nepal in 2004 with a jeweller named Deepak Khemkar.
After two years of marriage five people including my sister’s husband got killed in a heist that took place at his shop. Deepa fought legal battle for almost three years and then came back to India,” Vikas said.
“We got a call on September 28 from Nepal police that my father has been arrested in that case. He was here in Lucknow when that incident happened.
The CCTV footage clearly shows that my father was picked from here then why Nepal cops are showing his arrest from across the border.
My father is innocent and we demand immediate intervention from the government. The local police also got a call from Nepal confirming about the arrest,” Vikas added.
He further added that on contacting the Nepal number, the person who picked up the call made him speak to Kishorilal for a minute but the phone is not being attended now.
He also went to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence but the matter was transferred to the DGP office and no help came from there.
The jeweller’s wife Prakashani has also appealed to the government and the police to help the family in getting Kishorilal back to the country.
Deepa who got married in Nepal said, “I was also here for treatment along with my father when dacoity took place at my husband’s shop in 2006. We are not getting any cooperation from the police and the government must help us in getting justice.”
Meanwhile speaking to India Today, SSP Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani said, “The jeweller’s wife got a call from Nepal informing her about Kishorilal’s arrest.
We have reported the matter to top officials, high commission and central government as well since two countries are involved. We are also trying to ascertain whether the people who abducted him were from Nepal police or not.”
CCTV footage of 65-year-old Lucknow jeweller Kishorilal Soni being abducted on 28th Sept, while he was returning from his shop. He was later taken to Nepal, where he has been
placed under police custody.
For arresting someone from another State, the local Police has to be informed, other wise it is totally illegal.
Here the kidnapping has been done by Police of another Country. It is a serious issue of Sovereignty itself and should not be taken lightly by the Govt of India.
