Taiwan displays new missile To Deter China

Taiwan Air Force on Tuesday conducted a series of exercises, including showcasing a new missile that will decimate any threat eminating from the neighbouring country China. The display of the weapon will surely impose caution on the Central Military Commission and PLA leadership of China who may be dreaming of planning an invasion of Republic of Taiwan.

In fact presently the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China is carrying out offensive type exercise near Taiwan. Thus this is a clear warning that such missiles would surely be used if a war breaks out.

In media reported that the Country ‘s air force held a series of exercises in Taitung on the day, displaying to the media for the first time the Wan Chien missile carried by the IDF fighter jet, as the Chinese PLA has been sending warplanes to Taiwan’s southwestern air defense identification zone over the past few months.

A Wan Chien missile carries more than 100 submunitions and has a range of about 200 kilometers, meaning the IDF fighter jet can launch it from near the “middle line” of the Taiwan Strait and destroy costal military facilities including airfields in the China.

ThePLA though claiming superiority over IDF fighter jets, the launch platforms of the Wan Chien missiles, can in no way prevent the launch of these missiles if a war breaks out in the Taiwan Strait. PLA will never be able to establish any kind of air superiority, notwithstanding tall claims if PLAAF. So the Chinese based within range of these missile will remain quite vulnerable and may be disabled completely for a consuderable period in the initial strike itself.

once the Taiwan military launches these missiles, then a few may be intercepted but the majority will hit their targets. The PLAAF aur defence will not be able to stop these advance missiles of Taiwan. Thus by

Displaying the missile has achieved the practical military aspect of putting enough caution in the enemy to avoid any mishap or misunderstanding in the future. This new weapon system of Taiwan will thus become a deterrence and help lower tensions in the Taiwan Strait and prevent unnecessary PLA manoeuvre that could spark a conflict.

However the stubbornness of the Chinese Communist Party may be assessed from their response to a question on the recent frequent activities of PLA warplanes near the island, Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for “the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council”, said at a regular press conference on Wednesday that, “To effectively deal with interference of foreign forces and a small number of Taiwan forces, we are not promising to give up the use of force and will reserve the option of taking all measures,” China Central Television (CCTV) reported on Wednesday.
