UK Must Vacate Chagos Archipelago Forthwith, Should Also Quit Falk Lands
With Britain exiting European Union, time has also come for India to kick out Britain from the Commonwealth too. It seems that these Brits will never learn. Their Opposition Party has the audacity to ask for international intervention in Jammu & Kashmir. The Government of UK will certainly not have the courage to utter such words. Though you never know, this is how the gasping Empire may be playing out its last of the Great Games.
The UK’s Opposition Labour Party suffering from certain mental trauma has gone ahead and passed an emergency motion on Kashmir calling for party leader Jeremy Corbyn to seek international observers to “enter” the region and demand the right of self-determination for its people. Well lets see if Britain has the wherewithal to enter any part of India, forget Kashmir.
The Opposition resolution tabled at Labour’s annual party conference in Brighton by the Leyton and Wanstead and Nottingham East Constituency Labour Party wings was passed. It calls for intervention by Corbyn to ensure someone from the party is represented to attend the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on the issue.
Aim is to demand the restoration of basic human rights including the freedom of speech and communication, the lifting of curfews, and to allow the humanitarian aid organisation and international observers to enter the region.
We Indians will ask …..And prey, who has the power to ensure this…certainly not UK’s Uncke Sam. ….
Reads an Indian resolution. “ We too in India demand that Britain must leave Chagos Archipelago forthwith otherwise UN must permit India to forcefully evict all British possessions from there. Britain must also actively consider vacating the British Occupied Northern Ireland and British Occupied Scotland forthwith. Falk Lands too must be handed over to Argentina without any ifs and buts.”
These Labourers labouring under some nut cracking notions are calling for Corbyn to meet the High commissioners of both India and Pakistan to ensure there is “mediation” and restoration of peace and normality to prevent a potential nuclear conflict. A mediation from which even Trump has rightly backtracked.
Having played enough of Great Games, it is time Brits quit such things, it will be better for them. There is no Kashmir issue any more except a bilateral one between India and Pakistan to discuss POK and no third party has any role in it.
The Labour party can keep standing where they feel like but will certainly not be permitted to do so anywhere in India.
In India we have noted with concern that while the Labour party conference was taking place in the UK, people in Scotland were discussing the issue of their freedom from Britain. They certainly do not like to exit from the European Union and cannot be forced to do so.
We condemn the arrest and imprisonment of mainstream politicians and activists in Northern Ireland and Scotland, as they struggle for freedom from Britain. Restrictions on journalistic freedom, ongoing communications blackout continues to cause disruption for families in these British Occupied areas.
The situation in Britain is deeply disturbing. Human rights abuses taking place are unacceptable. The rights of the Scottish and Irish people must be respected.
Though in contrast to the misguided Labour Party, the British government’s official stand is that Kashmir is a bilateral issue, if at all an issue, between India and Pakistan.
