Meet the 13-year-old boy wonder helping UPSC aspirants crack the civil service exam
Thirteen-year-old Thogiti has his own YouTube channel with 1.87 lakh subscribers where he has been teaching Geography and Political Science to UPSC aspirants since the age of 10.
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is touted as one of the toughest exams to crack to become a part of the civil services cadre. Every year, lakhs of graduates and postgraduates aspire to make the cut, but only a handful actually succeed.
This, despite the fact that there is an entire industry across the country promising to help aspirants crack the civil services exams with ease. And in the crowd of a growing number of such coaching centres, 13-year-old Amar Sathwik Thogiti is making his mark.

In 2016, the then-10-year-old Thogiti started his YouTube channel ‘Learn with Amar’.
Today, his channel has over 1,87,000 subscribers. The Class 9 student from Mancherial district in Telangana is a UPSC aspirant himself, reports First Post.
YouTube channel, Thogiti teaches his viewers Political Science. The 13-year-old has several tips and tricks to help aspirants remember the names and locations of countries and rivers.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Thogiti said,
Most viewers are preparing for competitive exams and post requests, based on which I learn subjects and create videos. It takes me about two weeks to research a topic. Then I learn and practice it a couple of times and shoot it.
We also receive negative comments sometimes. Since I only work on the videos in weekends and on weekdays, I focus on my school curriculum, it does not bother me much.
Thogti gives credit to his father Goverdhan Achary Thogiti. A government school teacher, he is the resource person for teachers’ training in his district.
Asked how it began, Thogiti said,
I liked playing with the Atlas since I was in Class 5. My father saw my interest and started teaching me Geography. Once, during our sessions, I enacted teaching a lesson with my mother recording a video and uploaded it online. We received a good response and have been posting videos since then.
His younger brother Angh Vignesh has also joined his teaching venture. He has made 10–13 videos on the channel so far. Commenting on having two sons of such calibre, their father said,
My sons are talented. I teach them the same tricks I teach other teachers. Both grasp things quickly. I will send my child to study in the city after class 10. But till the time they are here, I wish to teach them to pursue knowledge and be the best of themselves.
