West getting closer and closer to direct involvement in Ukraine conflict

Dmitry Peskov stressed that weapons’ supplies “would neither change the outcome of this conflict, nor alter the trajectory of our country in terms of reaching its objectives set within the framework of the special military operation”

Russia views Western arms deliveries to the Ukrainian military as the growing involvement of the UK, Germany and France in the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

“We take this as the growing involvement of Britain, Germany, and France in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,” he told journalists.

According to Peskov, “the line between indirect and direct involvement is gradually disappearing.”

He noted that the West’s actions not only drag out the conflict but also lead to its escalation, making it “more painful and agonizing for Ukraine.”

Peskov stressed that weapons’ supplies “would neither change the outcome of this conflict, nor alter the trajectory of our country in terms of reaching its objectives set within the framework of the special military operation.”

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced on February 8 before his meeting in London with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that Kiev was offered to be provided with training in the UK for Ukrainian marines and pilots of fighter jets that are in military service with NATO.

Sunak’s spokesman later specified that the UK government had not yet made a decision on the supplies of fighter jets to Ukraine and that this issue would be thoroughly examined in every aspect.
