What An Unpredictable World

Fate of Ukraine has been like Karna the famous character of Mahabharat. Karna was born with a body armour and ear rings. So was Ukraine, with the third largest pile of nuclear arsenal at its birth after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Prior to war of Mahabharata Karna was cheated by Indra and deprived of his body armour and that proved fatal for him at the end. And he paid with his life. Similarly Ukraine was cheated by the USA, UK and the Russia at Budapest in1996. Ukraine was fooled to return its nuclear arsenal to Russia with an empty promise by all three to protect Ukraine from all harms thereafter.
However one of the guarantors that is Russia attacked Ukraine first in 2014 and thereafter now. And no one has come to its help, then or now from the two other guarantors that were left. Russia activated its nuclear system along with its conventional attack on Ukraine and that scarred the West. Ukraine was left to face its sad fate all alone. Its towns and cities are being constantly bombed and ruined. Its infrastructures and industries are being targeted and destroyed. Millions of its citizens have fled to other countries as helpless homeless refugees.
If Ukraine had a nuclear bomb today, Russia wouldn’t have done what it’s doing now.
No small country will believe the words of any big country now and that of the pole stars of multi polar world that every one is hoping to see as a new world order to shape into and keep world safe from all harms for sometimes.
Every country big or small will like to possess a nuclear bomb now as a SOS dose of medicine to protect itself from the whims of a big country.
May be that will work.
Rougue scientists will be in great demand who can assemble a nuclear bomb. Smuggling of fissile materials and other stores and components needed for making a nuclear bomb will have a great under ground market, run by rougue countries and international mafia. World will be more dangerous than ever before.
Certainly,we are heading towards a more dangerous time ahead that human kind has seen.
The book, The End of History and the Last Man by Prof Francis Fukuyama proclaimed the victory of Western Liberal Democracy and its triumph over all ideologies specially that of Left, after the end of the cold war and predicted the beginning of a peaceful period in human history and end of most conflicts thereafter.
Then came the book, Clash of Civilisations and Making of the new world order by Prof Samuel P. Huntington. Which went on to predict that not one country will clash with another but a group of countries with similar civilizational traits will clash with other countries with the dissimilar civilizational traits.
World was grouped into various civilizational blocks, getting ready to clash with one another. The book got acclaimed as most unique idea for quite a while. And it was believed that it was guiding many countries foreign policies and shaping the international relations.
But in place of inter civilizational clashes, we see intra civilizational clashes instead taking place all over the world!
Islamic Saudi Arabia is fighting a fellow Islamic country, Yemen.And the Orthodox Slavs are at each others throats in Ukraine. Peoples Republic of China’s(PRC) planes hover over Republic of China’s (ROC) air space in Confucian/ Sinic World with hostile intents.
All is not so well in the Hindu world either, little Hindu Nepal is showing red eyes to Hindu India.
Germany is defying the American sanctions and buying Russian gas to warm themselves in the West.
Only Japanese, Latin and Africans are sitting relatively quiet!
What an unpredictable world we are living in!
