Yunus’ visit shows how China is ready to support the radicals

Muhammad Yunus, the so called Chief Advisor of radicalized set up of Bangladesh left Dhaka for China on Wednesday for a four-day official visit.
This is his first state visit following the illegal ouster of the elected PM of Bangladesh’s by Islamist jihadists, thus changing the domestic political structure.
Yunus’ visit comes as no surprise, as he has no where to go except China or Pakistan for establishing any bilateral relations. His visit shows that, despite the radicalized political situation in Bangladesh, Beijing wants to fish in troubled waters to rile India.
The Bangladeshi jihadist media has reported that Yunus’ visit to China is going to be the “most important visit” by a Bangladeshi leader over the last 50 years, as the two countries aim to take the relations to a new height.
Even before Yunus was installed as the chief adviser of the interim government, he had established a deep link with China. Yunus’ understanding of China – India soured relationship is deeper than what rest of the world understands. This also makes him more cunning and crafty in making choices as head of the radical government.
For Bangladesh’s radical government, it is urgent to take full control of power, stabilize the economy and address the youth problem. In Bangladesh, unemployment among young people is a big challenge.
The country has abundant human resources; however, nearly 40 percent of young people are both gullible and unemployed.
Yunus himself knows that reinvigorating the economy requires harnessing loans which he can get only from China.
With America’s strategic contraction, Bangladesh is uncertain about the extent of assistance the West can provide. China remains a viable option for enhancing cooperation in various fields, such as industry transfer and agriculture technology improvement.
However, protecting the safety and interests of Chinese investments in Bangladesh is a crucial task for Yunus government.
If yunus government can implement effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese investment, it will significantly improve the perception of doing business in Bangladesh. In the field of infrastructure, India and Bangladesh have a sound foundation for cooperation.
However Yunus is eager to take Chinese help surrounding the Teesta River. Bangladesh and India share 54 rivers. Most of the rivers originate in India, so New Delhi just cannot be kept out.
For the Yunus government of Bangladesh, a major desire is to oust India and reducing dependence on India’s influence, which is next to impossible. Bangladesh was created with help of India and just cannot survive without it.
Also India will just not permit outside powers be it China or USA to interfere in Bangladesh. India is a major destination for everything for Bangladeshi citizens.
However, due to radicalization of Bangladesh now India has tightened its visa policies in recent days. Under such circumstances, China has stepped up its game but cannot succeed.
