A teenage actress — who alleged she was harassed by a male passenger on a Vistara flight — and her mother refused to file a complaint upon their arrival at Mumbai airport from Delhi, the Zaira Wasim Drama Unmasked by the airline and said in its official response on the matter, which blew up on social media last weekend.

ET has seen the letter. Police arrested the male passenger after filing a case based on a social media post by the teenager, who is a minor.
“He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck,” she said in the video post. “Is this how we are going to take care of girls?” The crew only became aware of anything untoward at the time of landing, when the actress shouted, Vistara said.

Vistara said the teenager didn’t respond when a crew member asked if she was alright as the plane was taxiing after landing. The airline said it asked the actress and her mother whether they wanted to file a complaint or first information report (FIR) but they refused. The letter points out that, as the girl is a minor, “we complied with the guidance/instruction of her parent with regard the FIR.”
